Brezje is a quiet village of about five hundred people on the Radovljica plain, eight kilometres from Lake Bled and four kilometres from the railway line. Fields on one side, the Karavanke ridge on the other, the Sava river running below.
There is one church, one post-box, one shop, one cafe — and one basilica that brings about a million visitors a year.
Brezje is a small village situated at the foothills of the Karavanke mountains, bordering Austria. It is also called a spiritual healing place. The greatest Slovenian pilgrim centre with the famous Basilica of Holy Mary of Good Help attracts tens of thousands of pilgrims each year. Almost all world celebrities visiting Slovenia stop here at least for a short visit.
